About Hunter Valley Filter Services
Hunter Valley Filter Service was founded in 1970 at Tomago, near Newcastle. Air filter cleaning was a new concept and not well accepted, so the prime customer base was restricted to local Newcastle industry and the underground coal mines. There were a series of owners, until 1985 when Paul de Groot acquired the business.
Under constructive new management the business was restructured and the customer base diversified to include large open cut Mines, Councils, Transport companies and General Industry.
Progressive growth and increasing new Filter Sales and Service resulted in the need for larger more suitable premises and the company was moved to Bennetts Green then to the Gateshead Premises and now the current purpose built premises at Rutherford Since 2013.
Quality accreditation was achieved in 1996.
The company is affectionately known as HUFS and has a loyal customer base of approximately 1000 customers who rely on the quality advice, service & competitive prices the company and its people provide, to reduce their costs and protect their investment.
The territory now extends from Taree to Wollongong, Wee Waa to Cobar, Parkes to Lithgow, catering for industries such as coal and gold mining, broad acre farming, transport, earthmoving & recreational vehicles such as 4WD's. Product coverage includes Air & Hydraulic filter cleaning, supply of new air, oil and fuel filters, coolants, Castrol oils and cleaning products.
With over 1.4 million filters successfully cleaned in the past 30 years, HVFS is now one of the largest filter service operations in Australia.
A dedication to constant improvement reflects in the company's annual high level of research and development expenditure, which is geared toward the development of better and more efficient processes and machinery. These systems and machines are operating in numerous locations in Australia & overseas.
Throughout its history, HVFS has retained its Newcastle identity and is involved in local activities such as active support for local sports and charities.
